Be able to record and view actual yields

Be able to enter the actual yield for any given group of trays in the farm at harvest time or after harvest. This would allow you to keep track of your actual yield as well as yield per tray. Especially useful for reviewing trends over time. We can surface yield data in the farm report and within in crop’s page to make it easy to review this information. Allows for better seeding and pricing decisions.

You can now record actual harvest yields and compare them with expected output.

Log measured weight from a planting group or harvest day. Weigh every tray, or record a sample and let Microgreen Manager estimate the rest. A warning appears if the recorded yield is not enough to cover open orders.

Startup and Pro include Yield Analysis: expected vs actual by crop, trends over time, and a 30-day average on crop pages. Export the report as a CSV. Recording yields is available on every plan.

Try it out and let us know what you think!

This is a great idea. Since we don’t have the ability to record actual harvest yields yet, would you still want to see the average for expected yields?

I’m not sure how beneficial that would be. We enter our expected yields on the Crop page and, at least in my mind, that should remain constant, although I have changed it a couple of times for some crops, when trying to get the grow dialed in. For the most part though, it remains pretty constant.

Been thinking about this a little more…. Instead of an average for expected yields, a column for Expected Yield (taken from the crop page) would be better. Then we can compare that with the Avg Yield column, when you get that added to the Farm Report. That will let us know if we need to go into the Crop Page and do some tweaking.

I see. Yeah I agree. When we have actual recorded yields we can show that and then another column for current comparison. We could also have the option to automatically update expected yields using something like average yield from the trailing 30 days. Or a button to make that change easily

Use average or moving average yields to calculate tray counts

If you enter the actual yield for each harvest then the software would be able to calculate average expected yield for any given crop. That could be used to calculate tray counts instead of having to change the yield every time your yields change. It could be an option to use historical average, or a moving average, like the average of the last 5 harvests

We would also love to see this feature included. Being able to see past yield patterns helps with planning future plantings.

    Chart historical yields over time

You can enter the actual yield for any given planting on harvest day to tell the software what your actual yield was for a crop. With that ongoing and historical data, we could chart your yield over time or enable other simple data analysis

Recoding a plantings overall yield with yield specific notes to note issues observed would be very helpful. I do not see requirement for per tray data but certainly per planting.

Good to know! This is high on our list so it’s definitely something we expect to add in the next few months. Stay tuned! :)

    Yield dashboard

Identifying expected vs actual to capture the yield of each crop would be helpful. It would definitely help with overall cost calculations

    Broccoli

    Expected: 12 oz/tray

    Actual: 10.8 oz/tray

    Pea

    Expected: 16 oz/tray

    Actual: 17.2 oz/tray

You'd quickly identify crops needing improvement.

This is a great suggestion. It’s high on our list of priorities!
