Container type (Small, Medium, Large) on products

We pack into three container types: Small, Medium and Large. How much each one holds depends on the variety, so a 4 oz product is a Medium for arugula but a Large for a lighter crop. Right now a product only has a size(Weight), a unit, a price and a type, so there’s no way to see which container to use. The Pack List Summary shows sizes and counts, but our team still has to look up which physical container each size goes in.

Please add an optional container type or label to each product, such as Small, Medium or Large, and show it on the Pack List Summary and on the order and harvest views. That would let us pack straight from the app.

Hi Finksburg! Interesting. Let me think about that and see what we can do. Are you packaging from the harvest page?

Hi Spencer, thanks for taking a look.

Yes, we pack from the harvest page using the Pack List Summary. It tells us the size and count for each crop, but not which physical container to grab. This is similar to the system we are using now too.

To fill that gap, we made a one page Pack Weights Sheet that sits at the pack station. It lists every variety with the net weight that goes into our Small, Medium and Large containers. The team checks the pack list against the sheet to know which container to use.

Tomorrow is the first time our delivery driver will be packing orders using Microgreen Manager, so it will be a good real world test. Our team knows the sizes pretty well by now, but a new person is exactly who would benefit from seeing the container right in the app.

We also have 3 separate delivery routes that go out on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and we bag up the orders on the farm before we leave. I usually print out a list of the stops in order for the driver, along with each order’s contents. Today I asked Claude to take the orders from Microgreen Manager and our Pack Weights Sheet and combine them with my delivery lists, and it made a pretty cool delivery sheet. I’d love to show you what we made.

You guys are doing great letting Claude work with Microgreen Manager, and I’m super excited to see what we can do in the future.
